On October 22nd, INSA Lyon hosted Think & Sport, an event dedicated to sport in higher education
With a desire to tackle the different scopes of sports in the academic context and to follow up on the 2024 Paris Olympic Games, the event was organised by a steering committee made of various departments from INSA Lyon (International Relations Office, Sports Department, Communication Department).
The event gathered regional and national staff from the world of sport and international relations as well as people from French institutions and 15 speakers who took part in the roundtables. The public was able to attend conferences, presentations and workshops on the 4 following themes:
- Sports in higher education: health impact, soft skills development and growing a sports culture in action
- How can we better support Dual Career (DC) students?
- The academic mobility of DC students: an impossible challenge?
- What is the link between Sciences 2024, elite sport and higher education?

During the event, a special place was given to SAMEurope thanks to an interactive presentation with the tool Wooclap. This enabled the INSA Lyon team to highlight all the work made possible up until now with the project and share its results. The audience also got the opportunity to take a first look at the platform and the way it will be displayed for DC students.
DC students were given a central position during the day as they were able to share their experience during each of the conferences. Some of them were also hosting the round tables and interviewing the speakers.
Think & Sport provided fruitful discussions on the place given to sport in higher education at various levels and gave a special place to the need of DC students.
Our next ‘Dual Career & International Mobility’ event will take place at INSA Lyon on May 15th and 16th 2025 and will be opened to a national and international audience. Stay tuned for more information coming soon!
