On January 16th and 17th, the SAMEurope team travelled to Castellón for the 9th transnational meeting of the project. The consortium had last seen each other in person the year before in Sweden. In the meantime, 2 transnational meetings had been organized online in 2024 to keep up with the project’s progress.
What’s going on with the project?
The SAMEurope discussed the new version of the IT Tool which will be launched in May and were able to see what the platform will look like for users (DC students). This is all looking very promising and the consortium is looking forward to welcome new universities into the network!
Another step forward in the project was the publication of a research article on Frontiers related to Dual-career student athletes in Spanish universities: characteristics and interests by the team from UJI. This shows how the project also has an impact locally, in the consortium countries.
The consortium was presented with the results of the Correspondence study, the goal of which is to evaluate the perceived potential of student athletes among potential employers. The findings show the need to train DC students on how to highlight the competences they gain from their sport career and international mobility when they apply for a job. Employers should also be aware of the added-value this type of profiles will bring into their companies.
The meeting was also the opportunity to start organizing the program of the final dissemination of the project. The team will be meeting for the last time in Lyon for the final transnational meeting which will be combined with the event. Stay tuned for more information coming soon!
As always, the meeting left some room for a sporting activity and this time the SAMEurope team discovered speleokayak. It is for sure something to remember!
