Can you please introduce yourself in a few words and your role within your university?
I am Director of Studies for our Bachelor program in physics, as well as three of our Master programs. For SAMEurope, I am the project manager for the development of the IT tool. My connection to sports goes way back as I played a big part in establishing the Sports & Technology research initiative at Chalmers in my former role as communications officer. I am also COO for Molecular Frontiers, a global initiative aiming to promote the public understanding and appreciation of science, in particular among young people.

What attracted you to the SAMEurope project?
I was excited to get the chance to work with our dual-career students, and reconnect with the people involved in the Sports & Technology team. I also like developing IT solutions, in collaboration with contractors, something that I have done several times before. I really enjoy international collaboration, and I think we can all benefit from interacting and learning from each other.

What do you expect from the project for Chalmers?
Collaboration with other universities has always been very important at Chalmers, and being in this consortium has connected us to a couple of institutions whom we previously had no interaction with. Our dual-career students rarely study abroad, and I hope that this project will be successful and open their eyes to new possibilities within Erasmus+. I also hope that other universities all around Europe will find the results of our efforts useful and that many institutions will want to participate eventually.

The project was launched in June 2022, what benefits have you already gained on a personal and professional level since?
The project has opened my eyes to the different realities dual career students face in different countries, as well as the differences in how our universities are organized. It is all very interesting and helps me develop in my role as director of studies. Through the project, I have made new friends in other parts of Europe; the SAMEurope team is really fantastic.
